Pat knows first-hand how swift, unexpected events can turn lives upside down. She was happy being a contented housewife and mother until the day her husband's light plane struck a mountain. Suddenly, she was head of a household with two small children to raise and to educate. Within two years after her husband's death, Pat, her son, daughter and dachshund moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where Pat was newly enrolled in Tulane University School of Law. After law school, they all moved back to the family farm in Ohio.

Pat is licensed to practice law in both Ohio and Florida. She is a member and past trustee of the Akron/Canton Real Estate Investors Association and a long time real estate investor. Having been through the costs, frustrations and delays of a probate proceeding herself, Pat has assisted many women and men over the years who were going through this process.

Pat has been a speaker to several groups and to thousands of investors with common sense talks about how to prepare in advance to soften the landings when bad things do happen.

She has been a national speaker on asset protection in past years as Patricia Byard. Now, after her marriage to Attorney David Tarr, her name has changed. David and Pat live in Fairfield Township, Ohio and have farms and rentals throughout various counties of the state. Her main offices are in North Canton and Newcomerstown, Ohio. Unlike most lawyers, Pat often goes to her clients' towns for consultations and services. Pat's son, D. Patrick DeBoer, a graduate of Akron Law School, was sworn in as a lawyer in November of 2000. Patrick now runs the office phase of the practice, while Pat speaks to groups all over the country.

The primary goal of Pat's legal practice is protecting her clients' holdings from whatever may befall. She believes in looking after the entire well-being of her clients. She addresses tax issues, probate concerns, fears about being entrapped by a guardianship and most of all, shielding each financial kingdom from lawsuits and other catastrophes.
